Researchers
Meet the research team behind the PULSE project.
Taha Moussa
Taha Moussa received the multidisciplinary engineering degree from the Tunisia Polytechnic School in 2023. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in telecommunications at the University of Rennes, France.
He has contributed to research projects at the IRISA Laboratory, Lannion, France, developing expertise in embedded systems and wireless communications. His previous work included designing hybrid localization models using low-power radio signals and developing energy-optimization strategies for sensor networks. His current research focuses on indoor localization systems based on low-energy wireless technologies and integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance system robustness and adaptability in complex environments.
Antoine Courtay
Antoine Courtay received the Ph.D. degree in electronics from the Université de Bretagne Sud, Lorient, France, in 2008. He is currently an Associate Professor (Maître de conférences) in Electronics at the Université de Rennes, Rennes, France.
He has contributed to several projects involving real-time signal processing, low-power system design, and sensor-based applications. His research and teaching activities span the fields of algorithm design, computer architecture, and embedded electronic systems.
Mickaël Le Gentil
Mickaël Le Gentil received the Engineering degree in electronics and industrial computing (EII) from ENSSAT, Lannion, France, in 2012. He joined the CAIRN Team, IRISA Laboratory, Université de Rennes, Rennes, France, where he developed expertise in embedded programming for wireless sensor networks and project management.
He later worked at IRT b<>com, Lannion, on private 5G core networks. In 2023, he returned to the IRISA Laboratory as the Head of the Development Unit, supporting the GRANIT and TARAN teams in the development of energy-efficient embedded systems. He is currently a Research Engineer in Computer Science and Electronics at the Université de Rennes.
Olivier Berder
Olivier Berder (Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Bretagne Occidentale, Brest, France, in 1999 and 2002, respectively. After a postdoctoral position at the Speech and Sound Technologies and Processes Laboratory, Orange Labs, Lannion, France, he joined the University of Rennes, Rennes, France, in March 2005, where he is currently a Professor at IUT Lannion and the IRISA Laboratory.
He is the Leader of GRANIT Team. He has co-authored more than 120 peer-reviewed papers in international journals or conferences and has participated in numerous collaborative projects funded by either European Union or French National Research Agency. His research interests focus on power management for mobile communications and wireless sensor networks.
